Christmas Cookie Kickoff – Easy Sugar Cookies
I can not believe that it is December and Christmas is so close already.
I definitely slacked on my fall baking this year. Usually, I make homemade pumpkin and apple pies and all kinds of different dessert breads and muffins.
Little disappointed but now I am taking a running jump into my Christmas cookie baking!!
I don’t have my own sugar cookie recipe so I used my absolute favorite cooking website for some inspiration… allrecipes! Here is the link…Easy Sugar Cookies
What we need:
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- an egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

What to do:
- Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry mixture.
- Once dough forms, shape into desired cookie shapes.
- Bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool for two minutes then transfer to baking rack.
I am a big fan of sugar cookies because the dough freezes so well. Double the batch and make it when you have time. Bake half and save half for another day for a quick homemade dessert.
I love that my two littles really enjoy helping their mama!
Maybe it’s all for the cookies but either way I hope this is a tradition for years and years to come!!
The most wonderful time of the year!!!
Action shot haha!
