We did it all at Hershey Park! Where do I start? We rode a ton of rides together, and even sent the kids on a few by themselves. Took pictures with Hershey characters. Visited the ZooAmerica. Of course, we indulged in our favorite park foods, treats, sweets and coffees. We played games and won the gold prize.
Before we talk about all the fun we had. I just wanted to share one of my biggest tips for traveling with littles. Ditch the stroller and bring the wagon. (Unless the kids are perfectly fine with sitting in the stroller, mine aren’t) The wagon makes the day. They love it and feel like they are getting a mini ride instead of being strapped into the stroller. My kids try to escape less and it makes it easier to make our way around the crowds.
Our Favorite Rides
WOW, I did not realize how many little kid and family friendly rides there were! SO many, in fact there was no way we could get to them all but we hit about 15 of them. Check out how hard I caught them concentrating on their driving!!
Hershey Park has a great system of measuring each child in the beginning of the day and assigning them to a designated candy based on their height. Each ride clearly shows which “candy” is allowed on the ride. It is also pictured this way on the map and indicates if adults are allowed to ride with the child as well. This made it very easy to pick out which rides your kids will be able to go on without having to walk over.
I loved that there were so many rides that we could do together. We got a lot of quality family time and those smiles are everything! Dry Gulch Railroad was a favorite ride.
Meet and Greet Characters
We were so busy the whole day. The kids were spotting the next ride to go on. When we first got into the park we met the Hershey syrup character. I am so glad we got a family picture with him because we never made it to another one. It was a beautiful sunny day so we are all squinting or have our eyes closed but I still love it!
Super surprise bonus. I actually had no idea that ZooAmerica was part of Hershey Park and admission was included with our tickets! There was absolutely no way that we could pass up going into the Zoo section of the park. It was the best way to take a chill break from the crowds without having to go too far. Not to mention we love animals of all sizes and species. It was a beautiful walk too.
Food, Treats and Sweets
My girl absolutely loves her giant turkey legs. She was so excited to see that someone had one and I knew there was no way that we couldn’t get her one.
And I know I have mentioned my son being a picky eater once, twice or maybe 50 times. He really doesn’t have a sweet tooth at all and he never wants anything. I always feel bad when I get my daughter a special treat when we are out and not him. Let me tell you, no show you, how much he enjoyed his delicious Hershey’s chocolate chip cookie while taking a fun ride on the monorail.
And of course us parents had to get ourselves a chocolatey delicious, coffee. My daughter in her glory with an ice slushy drink.
My kids are often too little for most of the carnival games but my daughter spotted this fishing game and wanted to play. And what do you know, that little lucky girl caught the fish with the gold prize and won the big dolphin which just made our day!
Don’t let a little rain stop you
So it started raining while we were there…but that did not stop us from getting in as many rides as we could. Sometimes it ends up being a really great day at the amusement park when the weather isn’t great because it is so much less crowded! We finished off our day on the Kissing Tower which is an amazing ride because it takes you up high enough to see the entire park! Really cool!
We had the sweetest day at Hershey Park and will absolutely be making it back before the summer is over. Especially to visit their gigantic waterpark at The Boardwalk at Hershey Park! (Which was not yet open for the season when we were there) We definitely left Hershey Park Happy!
