Duke’s Lagoon
It was a beautiful day and we headed straight for the water play area. We spent a lot of our day here. There were three separate play areas which was a perfect way to break up the age groups. Although, my kids did venture to the bigger one.

My favorite part about this water area was that you didn’t even feel like you were in the middle of an amusement park. You can see it’s set on a beautiful field in the background. There were plenty of seating areas and tables. And there were chairs directly in front of the play areas. As a mom of two little ones, you don’t get to sit for long but at least you could take a little break and literally be right in front of them. And always take a selfie in front of the giant palm tree 🙂

I really liked that there were a lot of umbrellas and enough shaded areas. Check out my girl taking a relaxing break in our makeshift wagon bed. The perfect size! This wagon is our best friend for outings.

You could also rent a cabana for the most affordable price that I have ever seen at a park before. Cabana girl not included 😉

Our Favorite Rides
Clearly, from my son’s face, you can tell that his favorite ride was the Double Splash Flume. All four of us rode together the first time, and then my daughter and I sent the boys back on so that we could watch them come down. We had the perfect viewing spot on one of the bridges.

And now for my daughter’s pick which wasn’t actually a ride. But Dutch Wonderland has the cutest little gingerbread houses that you could walk into. Inside this gingerbread house, you push a button and all the people come alive and start mixing and baking treats. I absolutely loved that she loved this because cooking and baking is one of our favorite things to do together.

Mommy’s pick. I always enjoy the train rides because I like getting to tour the entire park and check out all the rides and attractions. A great way to stop and take in the day for a few minutes and really enjoy the moment. Here’s our ride on the Wonderland Special.

Here we are in our hot air balloon on the Bon Voyage Balloon Chase ride. You can see the gigantic Fun Slide in the background too.

Park Eats
We always pack a cooler with drinks and snacks whenever we head out for the day. But it is always such a treat to indulge and get something special when we visit a park.
I am starting to see a pattern, we always seem to go for the BBQ.

We also stopped in the Mill Stream Eatery. I thought it was great they had four different food options in the same building. It makes it easier for families when everyone wants their own choice.

And the day is never complete until you had a sweet treat! Check out The Slush Shack! So many fun flavors and cups to choose from. The best part is getting to make it however you want!

Shows and Characters
So, we didn’t get to see any of the shows this time but we did get to meet Princess Brooke. I love that they had a story time, a comedy show, and even a kingdom celebration.
Until Next Time
So I don’t think it is any secret that when you have little ones you don’t get to everything you plan to see and do. Once they reach their limit and you know it’s time to pack it in and call it a day. But that’s okay because we have a list for the next visit. I NEED to get on the Gondola Cruise, walk the Prehistoric Path with all the dinosaurs, and dig up some fossils in the Dino Dig area. Because behind every kid is just a mom who wants to be a kid for day!
Catching the last train home! See you next time, Dutch Wonderland!
