One of the best parts about vacation is the FOOD. I love getting to indulge for a few days, trying new things but most of all going back to my favorite spots!
I spent the weekend in Texas and enjoyed two full days of uninterrupted meals 🙂
So I wanted to make a little list of all of my personal picks! This list is in no particular order except for Velvet Taco which I had literally started craving since the moment I booked my flight.
Velvet Taco
I absolutely have to eat at Velvet Taco every time I am in Texas. The first time I went to VT, I was 6 months pregnant and I definitely took advantage of that and may have went a little overboard! I got the loaded tots that are topped with a fried egg and three different types of tacos! PS. the beers were not mine!
This time I got a buffalo chicken taco, a fish taco and barbacoa nachos. OMG. Do you deliver?
Whataburger
This was my very first time eating Whataburger and it did not disappoint!
I was leaving for the airport in a few hours, so we just wanted to grab something quick so we could veg out a little bit longer.
I got the Avocado Bacon Burger and of course, you can’t have a burger without fries. But the real game changer is the Spicy Ketchup!!!
Funky Baja’s Cantina
I love going out to dinner for some good Mexican. Never ending chips, salsa and guac is the best way to start a meal! Funky Baja’s makes these giant delicious margaritas. I always seem to go to for the shrimp tacos and these were soooo good!
The Station Patio Icehouse
My favorite part about The Station was all of the outdoor seating. It was a really cool set up with a fire pit and the big water tower. Also, there was a shaded section with fans so we got to enjoy a nice lunch outside. And it’s dog friendly!!
I got the Southwest Chicken Salad. Try the mules! They are the perfect refreshing drink on a hot day!
America Gardens
I loved America Gardens because it felt like you were in the middle of a park but in the middle of the city! They have a whole bunch of outdoor games and fun old school board games. It was raining on the night we went here but we still had a great time!
